Enhanced internationalized education
Internationally, higher education has undergone changes in line with globalization and liberalization. Hence, Ming Chuan University has added internationalized education as one of our educational goals. We recruit international students, provide English-taught degree programs, hold various international academic exchange activities, international guest visits and educational exhibitions to establish the channels of effective exchange and recruitment. These are not only our educational features, but also a big step toward internationalization.
The purpose of promoting internationalized education is to align with the global village. Taiwan is not the only location for employment; our graduates will work around the world. We nurture students with broad worldviews to be international talents with competitive ability through our theory-based and application-oriented education.
Cross-strait collaboration for recruitment
The policy of Taiwan’s higher education has now opened to recruit excellent talents from all over the world, which includes outstanding students from Mainland China. As the government has revised the cross-strait policy, the recruitment of Mainland students has aroused a lot of attention. Most domestic universities are actively begun recruiting Mainland students, as this can not only resolve the recruitment crunch in Taiwan, but also become a key factor in advancing the domestic education environment.
In step with the developments of global society, education is also globalized. Due to their proximity, Taiwan and China have already started to exchange and interact with each other. It is really easy for Taiwan to recruit students from China and resolve the recruitment concerns due to low birthrate here in Taiwan. The recruitment of Mainland students not only can contribute to multi-culture educational environment in Taiwan, but also can stimulate healthy competition and collaboration among universities on both sides of the strait. It also stimulates Taiwan students’ learning attitudes and motivation and assists in promoting the quality of higher education.
Therefore, academic exchange and collaboration not only add to cross-strait interactions, but also align with the global trend and assist in sustainable development of cross-strait globalization. Education and talents are the basis of national competitiveness; the development and achievement of cross-strait education enhances higher education collaboration on both sides. Both Taiwan and China consider cross-strait education to be an important issue.
